Save the Children (SC) is the leading independent, rights-based organization for children. SC was founded in London in 1919, and is commemorating its 100th anniversary in 2019. SC has been operating in Mongolia since 1994. SC’s Country Office in Mongolia is being managed by SC Japan. We are currently working in 5 geographic areas in the country, implementing projects and supporting programs in Child Protection, Child Rights Governance, Child Poverty, Education and Health.

Save the Children is currently seeking a full-time Country Manager to lead and represent its country office in Mongolia.  

About the role
Reporting to the Country Director, the Country Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day operations and representation of the Country Office, and for overseeing the development, management and evaluation of quality programs, including advocacy work, that deliver immediate and lasting change for the country’s most marginalized and vulnerable children.

Required qualifications

  • A minimum of 10 years of management and/or development experience.
  • Solid experience of new program development, networking and building rapport with donors and host government.
  • Demonstrated management and development of diverse teams of national and international professional staff.
  • Credibility to lobby, influence and represent Save the Children at all levels.
  • Proven sound strategic thinking and planning skills, including ability to think creatively and be innovative, set priorities, manage work plans and evaluate progress.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Mongolian.
